    Unwind & Restore Yoga for Women

    The change of seasons from the high energy of Summer to Autumn reminds us to slow down, to take time to rest and replenish our energy levels. I am offering in term 2 my Unwind and Restore Yoga for Women on Tuesday evenings for you to experience the gentleness and quietness of an evening practice starting from 16 May to 20 June.
    You will experience the benefits of this more feminine style of practice through:


    • gentle warming and stretching movements, as well as strengthening and supportive poses beneficial to the feminine body, cycles and life transitions;
    • movements interweaved with gentle pranayama (breathing) exercises, such as practices to calm  the nervous system and assist in self-regulation;
    • to unwind the body with a joint mobilisation practice known as Pawanmuktasana (especially beneficial for women experiencing symptoms of peri-menopause, menopause and post menopause); which assists in releasing muscle tension, tightness or fatigue and focuses on joint care; 
    • longer and restful Restorative Yoga poses with the use of some Yoga props which aim to bring balance and calmness to your hormonal and nervous systems (focus on rest & digest);
    • replenishing your energy levels, while also encouraging a restful and deeper night’s sleep; 
    • to focus on your self-care and nourishment;
    • gather with other women to build connection and community; and
    •  invite moments of deep rest with guided meditations.

    About Barbara


    Barbara is a registered yoga teacher who is passionate about helping women find balance and harmony in their lives through a more feminine yoga practice and trained under Ana Davis of Bliss Baby (Byron Bay) in Women’s Yoga and is certified in Restorative Yoga (Lizzie Lasater and Judith Hanson Lasater). She is also specially trained and certified in Children’s Yoga and Yoga for children with special needs (Loraine Rushton of Zenergy Yoga - Sydney). Barbara teaches yoga in schools as part of wellbeing programs, after school yoga classes, and school holiday workshops, as well as specialised yoga classes for corporates “Bring your child to work days”.

    Barbara has blended her interest in yoga for women and children, by developing the unique “Moments to Cherish” Mother and Daughter yoga workshops. These workshops are designed for mothers with tween to teenage daughters to honour and celebrate the parallel rites of passage that each go through emotionally and physically. They encourage a bridge of communication and support between mothers and daughters, and provide a safe place to be more compassionate with yourself and each other.
